Kathleen McMullen-Coady, ASID
Kathleen McMullen-Coady, owner and creative director of Mission Blue Design and Tower Design Studio, is a multi-talented designer and artist. Since founding Tower Design Studio in 1988, Kathleen has been facilitating beautifully designed architectural interiors for homes, restaurants, small hotels and corporate offices.
Kathleen believes in exquisite, sustainable, timeless design and that the design process is fundamental to the success of her concepts. Rather than simply implementing her ideas, she employs a process of discovery, deeply considering the desires and concerns of her clients. Kathleen's work is particularly well known in California, where renowned venues such as The Post Ranch Inn, Watermark Restaurant, and the Sierra Mar Restaurant feature her work.
She recently finished the Ojai Council House, a 100% Green design project in Ojai, California.
Her work has received numerous awards and has been published in California Design, Travel and Leisure, Hemispheres Magazine, Print, The Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Architectural Record, 805 Living and Ventana Magazine.
Kathleen is a member of the Green Building Council.
MaryAnne Hines, ASID
MaryAnne Hines, Mission Blue Design co-owner and Green Designer, has an affinity for art, design, and a true passion for the environment. Graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Fine Arts, she began her career as a designer in the early 90's. After completing a long-term design project for a public company that produced pharmaceuticals from sustainable medicinal plants, MaryAnne took the position as their Corporate Communications Director. Her dedication to conservation and environmental preservation later led her to successfully owning and developing an internationally acclaimed sustainable tourism enterprise in the Fiji Islands. It is only natural that her vast experience, education and talents would evolve into a career in creating design solutions that are instrumental in transforming people's lives as well as benefiting the environment.
MaryAnne listens to her client's needs and desires and closely works with them, creating a plan to turn their visions into reality. Believing that people are symbiotic with the space in which they work and live, Hines' guiding principle is to create healthy, harmonious environments that enhance the quality of life for people and the planet. She is committed to delivering balanced and timely solutions while empowering her clients to achieve their dreams.
MaryAnne is a member of the Green Building Council and training to be LEED-certified.
